FAQs

Can we really have a naturist wedding ceremony at a beach in Florida?

You sure can! Haulover Beach, north of Miami between Sunny Isles and Surfside, has a clothing-optional area where you can celebrate your love and get married.

Do all of my guests have to be in the nude?

Not at all. Haulover Beach is a very friendly beach, you can stay clothed if you'd like.

Do we need a permit to get married at Haulover Beach?

Yes and no. If you are eloping and it's just the two of you or if you have a few guests, then no, you don't need a permit.

If you are interested in having an altar, photographer, videographer, chairs, furniture, and more most likely you will need a permit.

I've never been to a nude beach, isn't it awkward having a ceremony in the nude?

There is nothing more natural than standing with the one you are going to marry clothing-free. At Haulover Beach, the only thing you will find is that there is a beach with guests that will be excited about you getting married.

How do we get the Marriage License?

You can apply for your license in any courthouse in the state of Florida. For Miami courthouses, see here, or the Broward online option here. Just remember, if you're Florida residents, there is a 3 day waiting period, so think about that when planning your wedding.

We're coming from out of state, can you help us get our license?

If you're planning on coming to Miami early, you can make arrangements to get your license in person because there is no waiting period for out of state couples. If you're more like the planner type, you can apply virtually at the Broward county courthouse, just remember to schedule an appointment in advance.
